The Eight Best Restaurants in Walla Walla
The Vine, the On-Site Public Restaurant at Cameo Heights Mansion
You may say that we’re biased, but the facts don’t lie! There is no place better to enjoy a delicious, world-class meal than our onsite restaurant, The Vine. When you reserve a table at our restaurant, you’ll enjoy mouth-watering food in a warm, country setting for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
The Vine specializes in a seven-course, prix-fixe style of dining, which is available Tuesday through Saturday. This service is just $75 for a seven course dinner with an option of a $30 chef-selection wine pairing. Each of the courses are expertly prepared and plated by Chef Nathan Carlson, who utilizes fresh, locally-sourced ingredients for the meal of a lifetime. Diners at The Vine also have the option of ordering the dishes a la carte even though it is advertised as a prix fixe menu. For an intimate experience, consider taking your meal in the privacy of your suite at Cameo Heights Mansion for just an extra $30 charge (ask for the Private Dinner Service.).
Other restaurants in Walla Walla we highly recommend are:
If you’re craving a fine-dining experience while you’re touring downtown Walla Walla, stop by The Marc. This elegant restaurant features a seasonal entree menu, a dessert menu, and even a kid’s menu! If you’re craving some fresh Pacific Northwest seafood or some quirky dishes, The Marc is a great place to stop. For example, they offer a pork belly “PB&J,” which comes with a huckleberry sauce, a peanut butter powder, and parsnip chips. Seared Pacific Northwest crab cakes is another popular item on the menu, served with a charred onion creme fraiche, apple, micro greens, and pistachios. For your entree, they have items from the field, farm, and sea. Try their day boat excursion seafood, which is The Marc’s version of “catch of the day.” Of course, no meal is complete without a drink pairing from their award-winning wine list!
T Maccarone’s, commonly known as TMACS, is serving up high-end comfort foods in a casually elegant setting. They have a lunch and dinner menu, as well as a fantastic wine list. Whether you’re looking for an outstanding steak (they’re known for the TMACS Bistro fillet, which is served with bordelaise, horseradish mashed potatoes, and blue cheese dusted fried onions) or a hearty pasta, you’ll find it here. Start your meal off with one of their small and shareable plates, like oven-roasted octopus, served with a romesco, olives, and a preserved-lemon yogurt. If you enjoy spicy foods, don’t miss their firecracker prawns, with garlic, shallots, dried chilies, white wine, and chives.
If you’re craving Mediterranean food, head to Saffron. This fantastic eatery specializes in Italian, Spanish, and Greek dishes. You’ll find everything from patatas bravas, a classic tapa from Spain that includes fried potatoes, a spicy tomato sauce, and a creamy aioli, to falafel. If you’re visiting for dinner, sample one of their housemade pastas, like the saffron pannette, with spicy sausage, sweet peppers, tomatoes, and basil. They also have Morrocan-style fried chicken, with hand-rolled couscous, ginger, green olives, grilled apricot, turmeric, cinnamon, and cilantro.
Brasserie Four, located on Main Street in Walla Walla, is a wonderful example of a casual French restaurant done right. Their walls showcase works by local artists, and their menu includes classic French cuisine and fine wines. Whether you’re in the mood for Rillettes porc et de Canard (pork shoulder and duck breast preserved in lard with Juniper berry and sage) or a classic bouillabaisse, Brasserie Four is sure to satisfy.
Graze is a fantastic lunchtime spot. They have two locations in Walla Walla, one being a sit-down sandwich shop and the other being a drive-thru. Both restaurants have the same menus of delicious sandwiches, paninis, and salads. If you’re looking for something light, try one of their vegetarian options, like the Veggie Avocado cold sandwich. Would you prefer something spicy? Order their pulled pork torta, which comes with pickled jalapenos, chipotle dressing, avocado, and cilantro. They even offer a delicious banh mi, which comes with an eye of round, raw jalapeno, cilantro, pickled daikon radish, and carrot. So if you’re planning on hiking the gorgeous trails near Walla Walla, stop by Graze!
Maple Counter Café
While Cameo Heights Mansion does serve an outstanding daily breakfast, you may decide to stop by another local cafe for your morning meal. Maple Counter Cafe is a great option. They have a diverse breakfast menu, which is served all day long. There is also a lunch menu that is available during weekdays after 11. Most guests of Maple Counter Cafe choose to order from the fantastic breakfast menu. With delicious omelets, egg entrees, varieties of eggs benedict, pancakes, and even a selection of breakfast cocktails, you’ll find something for everyone!
