What to Expect at a Bed and Breakfast
Am I going to stay in a stuffy old room?
While many bed and breakfasts are located in historic homes, you’ll find plenty of sleek, gorgeous rooms and amenities in modern b&bs. Cameo Heights Mansion offers seven suites, each designed for the height of luxury and opulence.
What’s for breakfast?
One of the biggest perks of staying at a b&b is, of course, the breakfast! Often, the best breakfast in town is happening at your nearby b&b. At Cameo Heights Mansion, we offer a couple of breakfast options for our guests. First, we have the wake-up service, which includes a homemade Danish pastry and your choice of coffee, tea, or a chilled juice delivered to your door at 8:00 a.m. You can request this service upon check-in! At 9:00 a.m., our breakfast service starts in our gorgeous dining room. Typically, it includes fresh fruit and an incredible selection of entrees. Try everything from an egg burrito with a house-made masa tortilla, grilled vegetables, and chorizo sausage to a fruit-stuffed French toast with Canadian bacon. If you plan on checking out early, we offer Simple Simon breakfast combined with fruit, coffee or juice.

Do I have to eat breakfast with everyone else?
That varies from inn to inn. At Cameo Heights Mansion, you can enjoy your breakfast in the privacy of your room for just a $20 charge. Of course, we do have guests that enjoy meeting and chatting with their fellow travelers. If you’re interested in meeting a new friend, be sure to stop by the dining room or common areas!
Will I have to share a bathroom?
Thankfully, not many B&B’s are requiring guests to share a bathroom. Each of our suites come with their own private bath, as well as a lovely array of soaps, lotions, and bubble baths.
What does one do at a B&B?
It’s up to you! We have many guests who spend most of their time enjoying the many amenities around Cameo Heights Mansion. You can watch a movie in our theater room, which boasts an acclaimed Cain & Cain sound system or swim in our waterfall pool. If you’re feeling competitive, you can challenge the innkeeper, Alan, to a game of ping pong! Explore the grounds, like the nearby cherry orchard or vineyard. Practice your swing from the Stephen L. Petty driving range. We even have an onsite spa that can be booked for an incredible facial or massage.
Will I have to eat a scone on a doily?
Perhaps. But the scone will be so good you will forget all about the doily. Actually, among innkeepers, there are die-hard doily lovers and those who have banned them from the property. You can ask before booking a room which side of the doily war they are on if you want to be sure.
What about dining?
If you’re looking for a fine-dining experience, you’re in luck! Cameo Heights Mansion has an onsite restaurant, The Vine, that specializes in a seven-course prix-fixe menu.
How do I find a good B&B?
The best answer is to ask your friends about their experiences and who they would recommend. Pictures can be photoshopped, but guests reviews can offer the best picture of the inn you are considering to visit. There’s no better way to sort out the pros and cons of a bed and breakfast than a trusted friend!
