Take a Trip From Spokane to Walla Walla
First things first: just how far is Walla Walla from Spokane? The brisk two-hour trip will take you winding through mountain roads and in between open plains. With plenty to see along the way, it’s the perfect way to escape from day to day life. Here is everything you need to see during your Spokane to Walla Walla road trip!
-
Palouse Falls State Park
Palouse Falls State Park is located just past the halfway point from Spokane to Walla Walla. Trust us, this is one stop you don’t want to miss. The 200-foot rushing waterfall mimics the likes of Niagara Falls dropping into a bowl of churning water and continuing on to the Palouse River. The river was carved out nearly 13,000 years ago during the Ice Age floods. It is one of the last of its kind in the world.
-
Kennewick, WA
Kennewick is just an hour west of Walla Walla, and only half an hour from Cameo Heights Mansion. The small-town vibe offers mountain views and delightful restaurants. If you’re heading in from Spokane and just in time for dinner, try out Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar for small bites and craft cocktails or The Rock Woodfired Pizza for freshly baked pies and live music. Explore Columbia Park and make time for a relaxing walk by the broad Columbia River.
-
Washtucna, WA
Washtucna, WA offers more to the road trip enthusiast than meets the eye. The rural town (population of 208) is home to some sites that are sure to make your Insta followers DM you for details on just where exactly you’re at. Visit Little Palouse Falls for a short hike into Washington’s beautiful wildlife. Plan a stop at #thatpnw bus, an old bus turned piece of art and make your mark on the town (plus a selfie). Or stop by Bassett Park for some bird watching and a picnic.
