When Allen Shoup set out to create Long Shadows Winery more than 20 years ago, he had a vision. He wanted to combine the beautifully grown fruit in Washington with the talents of winemakers from around the world. Those winemakers now consist of Gilles Nicault as director of winemaking and viticulture, Randy Dunn, John Duval, Philippe Melka, Michel Rolland, Armin Diel, and father-and-son duo Ambrogio and Giovani Folonari. These are the minds that make Long Shadows Winery one of the best in Washington.
As you enter the Chihuly Tasting Room at Long Shadows Winery in Walla Walla, you first notice the sleek decor, leather couches, and spectacular blown-glass pieces from the famed Seattle artist Dale Chihuly. At first glance, this space feels more like an art gallery, but then the wine flights begin.
